Since assuming the role of Chief Operations Officer at the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) in January 2022 and the Director of the ACT Fund Management Company in 2025, Nicolaus has been leading the strategic operational functions of the organization. He oversees the investment and technical assistance teams in the execution of initiatives aimed at bolstering commodity trade and sustainable development across the globe. With a robust background in agricultural science, finance, and project management, Nicolaus brings over two decades of experience to his current role. His extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. His leadership steers the CFC towards its mission of empowering commodity-dependent countries and fostering inclusive economic growth. Prior to his current position, Nicolaus served as a Senior Project Manager at the CFC, where he managed the Technical Assistance Facility Management Unit and oversaw the Impact Fund Investment Portfolio from 2012 to 2021. He also He led a diverse portfolio of projects focused on staple food crops and oil crops, contributing to food security and economic growth in developing countries. His career started at the KFW Development Bank, both as a Project Manager and Trainee, provided him with invaluable insights into bilateral financial cooperation with developing countries.
